My husband has been on the hunt for spatzle for as long as we've been together, and we finally found an authentic German restaurant that has it! Very cozy interior with countless steins and Deutschland memorabilia, like a glimpse into your German grandparents' curio cabinets. We were seated in less than 2 minutes, and our order was taken quickly by a lovely blonde waitress in a white and pastel pink dirndl dress. We ordered 2 hot tea, Bavarian cheese dip, 2 gulasch (1 with spatzle and side of cucumber salad, 1 with potato dumpling & mashed potato), then dessert (1 chocolate mousse & 1 black forest chocolate cake). Our appetizer was ready in about 7 minutes, which was expected since it was slightly busy with about 9 out of approximately 12 tables occupied with customers. The live German music from Frank (Fred?), looking dashing in his lederhosen and alpine hat, was a great addition to the ambiance of the place and helped the time pass while waiting for early dinner. Even if it seemed like a small space, there was still enough room to have a private conversation with the live music. I could talk with my husband and still enjoy the singing in the background. While waiting for the food, I went to use the ladies' room. It was single-occupancy, so I waited for a few minutes. The restroom was clean and well-stocked. My husband said the men's room was clean as well. Back to the food, the appetizer of Bavarian cheese dip arrived about 7 minutes after ordering, and the pretzels were excellent. The dough was soft and fluffy enough to satisfy that hot pretzel craving. The cheese dip had fried onion or potato pieces, and it was excellent, not overwhelming at all. We each finished 1 pretzel in about 5 minutes! The entree of gulasches arrived 15 minutes after the appetizer. We did not know gulasch came with a pad of sour cream, and my husband gave me his since he isn't fond of that, but otherwise, it was delicious! The meat was soft, the potatoes were tasty, and the soup itself was filling. My husband enjoyed his gulasch with spatzle, and I liked how my potato du9mpling turned out. We saved room for dessert, so we shared the chocolate mousse and black forest chocolate cake. Both were very good. I was expecting more chocolate than whipped cream - now I know to ask for no cream next time. During dessert, we even met Heidi, the owner, who warmly greeted us like we were long-time customers (this is our first visit ) which was nice. Overall, the total order was about 108, excluding generous cash tip. We had a good foodie experience and might return when we're in the area again!

Absolutely delicious food that you can tell is homemade and made with love. Very welcoming atmosphere and friendly employees. Would definitely recommend and will be back again!

Came hungry, left rolling out the door. We had the best experience at Heidi’s! The environment is beautiful, and the restaurant makes you feel at home. Heidi is a delight and wonderful host- she really takes pride in her restaurant and creating an amazing experience. The food was incredible and authentic. We had the potato pancakes, pretzel, schnitzel, and schweinebraten... somehow we made room for dessert and had the apple strudel. I would give 100 stars if I could. Thank you again Heidi and team!

Heidi Schnitzel was an incredible discovery and an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re instantly transported to Germany; the cozy, rustic decor and the warm atmosphere make it feel like you’ve stepped into a traditional Gasthaus in Munich. The live music truly elevates the experience, creating the vibrant and festive ambiance of a real Bavarian beer hall. Heidi herself is the heart and soul of the place, an absolute star! Her passion and joy for what she does shine through in every detail, from the service to the food. I tried the schnitzel and the pretzel, and both were absolutely delicious: crispy, flavorful, and authentically prepared. The beer?? Amazing and much better than any US beer. This place is more than just a meal; it’s a full cultural experience. Can’t wait to go back!

If you're looking for a German restaurant experience with DELICIOUS food, you found your place. Inconspicuously tucked into a small strip of shops & storefronts, it doesn't stand out until you walk in & are immersed in everything German. As anticipated, nothing modern abt this place. Full of old world charm, decor and authentic, traditionally prepared Schnitzel (veal, pork or chicken) with a selection of sauces. Potatoes pancake appetizer was tasty but the main course was the star, followed by a surprise complementary mini dessert delivered by the owner. We had the veal & pork, both great. Potatoes & spatzel delicious & red cabbage to make you want to return. We'll go again.

This is the BEST German food in our whole region! The atmosphere is fun and comfortable...the staff is welcoming and Heidi makes her guests feel as though they are walking into a home for a family dinner

Another great night at Heidi's Schnitzal Kitchen. I have been coming here for years, when I am in sarasota on holiday from England. Great authentic German food that tastes delicious. Beer is imported from Germany as well and hits the spot. Heidi is is such a good hostess with a killer laugh. Staff are great and Penny is so efficient. Great service. I love it there.

Just an amazing experience with great and tasty authentic German cuisine. Interior design is pretty awesome to say the least. The restaurant Heidi is a wonderful host, and full of positive energy! We truly enjoyed a well prepared dinner with a cold “boot” of ale. We finished our feast with an Apple strudel, and plumb cake (my new favorite desert now ). Kudos to you Heidi, and your amazing team!
